Daily Care:
My main aim is to make your pets feel at home, in order to do this I ask for a care sheet to be filled in which details their usual routine, favourite fruits & veggies etc etc. This enables their stay to be as stress free as possible so I can keep to their usual routine.
I only take on a small number of boarders at a time, so your pet can be given lots of love and personal attention. You are welcome to bring your own bowls, bottles, beds, toys etc, or these can be provided if you wish.
All rabbits must be vaccinated against Myxi and VHD before they will be accepted for boarding. Vaccination certificates will be asked for on arrival.
During their stay your Rabbit and Guinea Pig will be provided with:
- Fresh fruit and vegetable treats daily
- Best meadow farm hay from a local supplier
- Fresh water, changed daily, can be provided in bottle or bowl
- Daily access to outdoor runs, weather permitting
- Indoor play area in winter
- Daily flystrike checks
- Lots of love and cuddles
Please bring your pets own dried food. Guinea pigs and rabbits have delicate digestive systems and a sudden change of diet can make them very ill. I can also cater for elderly animals or those on medication. Please discuss this when booking and I will do my best to accommodate you.
I do twice daily checks for flystrike. If you have a rabbit that is prone to getting soiled it may be advisable to use a product such as Rearguard before they are boarded to limit the risk. As vigilant as I am this is a horrible condition which can happen so quickly and any preventable measures taken on higher risk furries is always worthwhile.
SMALLER RODENTS:
Please bring their own cages, toys and dried food. I can provide fresh fruit and vegetables if they are used to something in particular and they will be provided with fresh water daily not to mention plenty of attention. If you would like them cleaned out whilst they are here I am more than happy to do this but as my charge is so minimal I would ask that you provide the bedding materials etc. These charming furries are kept within the main house and again numbers are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
EXOTIC BIRDS:
Please bring their own cage and check with me first to ensure I have the space available for the size of cage you will be bringing. Again, with birds being so sensitive to any change I would ask that you also bring with you relevant cleaning materials that they are regularly used to. This may include sandsheets, grit, special spray cleaner. Also there own toys, dried food and calcium/mineral supplements they take etc etc. I can provide fresh fruit and veg. They will be kept within the main house to ensure they are kept in a social environment and where they can be properly cared for and given lots of fuss and attention.
If an animal is ill whilst boarding, veterinary advice will be sort. I have a specialist rabbit vet very close by for advice and consultations and a specialist bird vet for advice and consultations so you can be rest assured all bases are covered for any eventuality! |
